Accessible Web Design Nottingham - Portfolio

Fire Sprinkler Solutions

Recently we've been working alongside http://tradegenerator.co.uk/ providing Design, Front-end Build and UX Services. Fire Sprinkler Solutions was the first project we collaborated on, which we completed within one week. Cyonix created the new Design and the HTML/CSS templates.

The project entailed a full re-design of the old website. Usability took the lead in the re-design to ensure the new website was built around the user needs, making it much more user friendly. We also considered primary business objectives in the re-design.

Fused Digital

A few weeks back we were fortunate enough to work alongside Fuse Digital as part of the talented front-end development team. Here are some of the projects that we were involved with.

Miele Showrooms
Awarded the Best Domestic Appliance Brand for domestic products that range from washing machines and tumble dryers to vacuum cleaners and coffee machines. Miele is truly high end design for quality domestic appliances and commercial equipment. The existing site was extended to accommodate the new Showrooms and Events section. Sharon was responsible for the front end build of each section. All templates were built using CSS/HTML and then prepared to hand over to the development team.

Grant Thornton
A leading financial and business adviser Grant Thornton UK LLP has offices in 30 locations nationwide and more than 25,000 individual and 15,000 corporate and institutional clients. The existing site was extended to accommodate the new School Leavers secton. Sharon was responsible for the front end build of the section. All templates were built using CSS/HTML.

PG tips
PG tips were commissioned a research study* to find out why people aren’t drinking tea out of home as much as they are at home. It came down to lack of trust, with 7 out of 10 people believing they could make it better themselves at home. Fuse Digital created the design for 3 steps to a proper cup of tea. Sharon was responsible for the front end build of each section. All templates were built using CSS/HTML.

Videotel International

Videotel International are market leaders in providing training products for the Marine Industry. The new website is a product catalogue with advanced search filters and XML import for over 5000 products.

The project entailed a full re-design of the old website. Usability took the lead in the re-design to ensure the new website was built around the user needs, making it much more user friendly. We also considered primary business objectives and worked closely with Videotel personnel and potential users via an online survey.

The website development is ongoing and will evolve over time with new features and functionality to come.

The site was built using Magneto Technologies LiveSite System. Magneto Technologies were responsible for all technical services. Cyonix roles on the project included:

We helped Videotel to identify and analyse:

• The existing website and statistics.
• Website goals according to primary business objectives.
• Target audience/user groups.
• User task analysis (walk through of steps taken to achieve a tasks for each user group).
• User scenarios (typical scenarios for the indentified user groups).
• User personas (user demographics, available technology, geographic locations and computer knowledge)
• Establish measurable user goals.

The website is accessibility focused and uses the latest best practices to adhere to web standards.

Richard Costin Wildlife Photography

The site is largely an online showcase and shop for Richards accredited Wildlife Photography.

Driven by Magneto Technologies LiveSite, the site is fully content managed with bespoke image upload and photo gallery.

Cyonix worked alongside Richard and Magneto Technologies to build the perfect site for Richard, who is delighted with the results!

Richard remarked that he’s had a huge response since the site went live, and the positive feedback has been overwhelming! People have commented on how easy the site is to use, the appropriate design and the outstanding photography (obviously).

Cyonix provided lead design, front-end development and project management services.  Magneto Technologies were responsible for all technical services.

KIDS Charity

KIDS charity works for Disabled Children, Young People and their Families. KIDS vision is a world in which all Disabled children and young people realise their aspirations and their right to an inclusive community which supports them and their families.

Cyonix was contracted by Fused Technologies to provide lead design, front end development and web accessibility/usability services. KIDS charity required a complete website overhaul; which included the look and feel, functionality and structure. We worked closley with core members of the KIDS team to identify the target market, user groups and the desired website message. This helped us to create a design that would correctly serve the target audience. We focused on getting the key elements right, such as the homepage message, navigation and the content/data structure.

Circle Anglia Newbuild HomeBuy

Circle Anglia is one of the largest housing groups in the United Kingdom. Together with its group members, Circle Anglia provides a wide range of affordable housing choices, including properties for rent, New Build HomeBuy and outright sale. New build HomeBuy is a fantastic part buy, part rent opportunity to help people buy a home.

Cyonix was contracted by Fused Technologies to provide lead design, front end development and web accessibility services.

The brief was to keep the design simple and stylish, while retaining the Circle Anglia brand identity. We worked closely with Circle Anglia to identify the target audience, the desired website message and website user personas & their goals. A user persona is a description of a fictional person that defines a target user group for a business and its website. We walked through scenarios for each persona to see where they may require assistance, this helped us to correctly structure key elements such as data (content), navigation, calls to action, search facility etc. It also helped us to create the look and feel of the website.

National Quaker Week

The website was created to generally promote Quakers. It focused on a one week campaign with national ads to raise awareness of Quakers and show that they are relevant in todays society.

The Fused Group comprises of 3 core brands that make up their converged solutions portfolio. The 3 brands include; Fused Technologies, Fused Networks and Fused Webcalls.

Cyonix was contracted by Fused Group to provide lead design and accessibility services. Cyonix was responsible for the design and build of Fused Group, Fused Webcalls and Fused Networks. We also collaborated on the design and build of the Fused Technologies website. The brief stated that all 4 websites must have an ongoing theme but have their own identity.

Rowley Ashworth

Rowley Ashworth is a leading national law firm specialising in working with trades unions on personal injury claims and employment law issues.

Rowley Ashworth required a complete website overhaul; which included the look and feel, functionality and site architecture. We worked closley with the Rowley Ashworth Marketing & Communications Manager to identify the target market, user groups, task scenarios and the desired website message.

Plaster by Design - Polished Plaster Specialists in Nottingham

Plaster by Design is a Polished Plaster Specialist company that required a Content Managed Web presence to have a competitive edge in Google. The site architecture was developed around the basis of research findings carried out by Webviz, experts in SEO.

The website was built using the Drupal System and has intuitive FAQ, Previous Work and Polished Plaster Finish sections that display the latest additions for ease of use and easy access. Users can browse through a range of colours, with the options to view by page, previous and next or view all colours. Users can browse polished plaster finishes by finish type and view an example associated reference of previous work.

The look and feel of the site is contemporary, simple and elegant to appeal to a high end market and reflect the quality of the work produced by Plaster by Design. The site is easy to navigate and is meets accessibility compliance standards to WCAG - AA Compliance.

The site was delivered in partnership with Kineta Systems and Webviz.

Business Design Centre

Situated in fashionable Islington, the Business Design Centre is London's most stylish venue, playing host to over 80 exhibitions and 250 conferences every year. The Business Design Centre is also the permanent home to over 100 businesses who occupy the offices & showrooms around the perimeter of the centre on 3 floors.

Cyonix was contracted to provide front end design/development services. Our role was to take a number of flat templates and convert them into standard compliant HTML/CSS templates.

Community Trade Union

Born in 2004, Community is a diverse union that Unites workers across Britain. Community works to improve and protect the pay and working conditions of all members.

Our role was to design the look and feel of the site and build the standard compliant HTML/CSS templates. The design brief was to ensure the look and feel embraced the brand colours to give it a strong brand identity. The brief also stated the design must be clean and make good use of space to incorporate the high volume of content.

Our role was to design the look and feel of the site and build the standard compliant HTML/CSS templates. The brief stated the design must have an easy to use layout, reflect the company’s new identity and have a contemporary look and feel. We asked the client to provide user persona information to help us create the structure of the home and inner pages. By doing this, we captured all user requirements and designed the page around these findings.

Fused Webcalls is a leading UK IP telephony and converged solutions provider for the Channel marketplace offering a range of VoIP services for all types of businesses.

The look and feel of the site is relevant to the sites purpose and is both clean and modern. We utilised the strong brand colours for the main feature to give it some contrast and brand identity. We asked the client to provide user persona information to help us create the structure of the home and inner pages. By doing this, we captured all user requirements and designed the page around these findings.

Loopart Works - Contemporary Abstract Art for Sale

Loop Artworks is a Nottingham based company run by contemporary artist Dave Andrew, creating abstract art incorporating a love of music and art.

The site includes an art gallery, with accessible pop-up windows. An RSS feed pulls the latest 5 headlines from Loopart Works blogger page.

The Loop Artworks website meets the compliance standards for accessibility (W3C WCAG - AA Compliance) CSS and XHTML 1.0.

Fire Horse Feng Shui - East Midlands Feng Shui Consultancy

We have recently launched the new improved website for Fire Horse Feng Shui, an East Midlands-based Feng Shui Consultancy. The site was built using the Drupal CMS and covers a wide range of content from services to links and testimonials.

The client required a CMS that had built-in Search Engine Optimisation, was easy to use, adhered to web standards and a new look and feel.

We are very pleased with the website so far as it's already achieving fantastic results in search engine rankings with targeted key phrases
